Transfer Student Orientation — Spring 2010
NOTE: You are a transfer student if you graduated from high school in spring 2009 or earlier and if you have attended another college or university and will be attending KU for the first time.
New Student Orientation offers a one-day orientation program on Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 for transfer students joining the KU community. The program allows you and your family members or guests to become acquainted with KU. You will have the opportunity to interact with KU faculty and staff, get to know other new students and your Orientation Assistant familiarize yourself with campus, and get answers to your specific questions. You will be advised about majors and course selections, enroll in your spring semester classes, and leave with a completed spring schedule. Students must have their spring semester course schedule approved by an academic advisor at orientation. Schedule building and enrollment can be completed ONLY in the afternoon.
Orientation is important to your success as a KU student, so we expect you to participate in all orientation activities. Orientation sessions build upon each other in order to prepare you for your transition to KU. Students who miss sessions may not be able to enroll during the program. Be prepared to arrive by 8:00 a.m. and stay until 5:00 p.m.
As a transfer student you must send official transcripts from each institution you have attended to KU's Office of Admissions and Scholarships. If you have fewer than 24 credit hours, you must also send a high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. If there is not time to send a final transcript before orientation, bring a grade report or an unofficial transcript to assist in advising. Failure to supply information on all college credits completed could delay your advising and enrollment and result in inappropriate course selection.
