Transfer Student Orientation
KU offers two types of transfer orientation programs. Students may select either program, but could be limited to a specific type of program based on their intended major and availability. The advantages of each type of program are listed below.
Transfer Enrollment (April 13)
- For students who have completed 45 hours by the end of the fall 2011 semester.
- Enroll at the same time as current KU students.
- Program is only advising and enrollment with an opportunity to get student life questions answered.
Transfer Orientation & Enrollment (April 21, June 18, June 25, July 2 and August 15)
- For students wanting a more extensive overview of student life at KU.
Transfer Orientation & Enrollment programs have family and guest sessions geared towards their questions. All programs include advising and enrollment. Example schedules are listed below. Please arrange your travel plans after confirming your orientation date. Students should make plans to attend all parts of their scheduled sessions.
NOTES
- You are a transfer student if you graduated from high school in 2011 or earlier and have attended another college or university and will be attending KU for the first time.
- Transfer enrollment has a limited capacity and does not include a family and guest program.
- Students transferring college credits must send official transcripts from each institution they have attended to KU's Office of Admissions. If they have fewer than 24 credit hours, they must also send a high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. If there is not time to send a final transcript before orientation, bring a grade report or an unofficial transcript to assist in advising. Failure to supply information on all college credits completed could delay advising and enrollment and result in inappropriate course selection.
Session topics and times are subject to change. Students will be given an up-to-date program schedule during orientation.
